GORDON Rainbands Hit Emerald Coast, Storm Making Landfall Tonight (9/4/18 10AM CT Advisory)


10 AM CT UPDATE: Tropical Storm Gordon was centered over the eastern Gulf of Mexico about 1450 miles east-southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River. Current forecast track has Gordon’s center moving across the northern Gulf of Mexico today. The storm will make landfall in the hurricane warning area late this afternoon or evening.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is expected today, and Gordon is forecast to be a hurricane when it makes landfall later today. However, rapid weakening is expected after Gordon moves inland.

A Tropical Storm Warning continues from the Alabama-Florida state line to Okaloosa-Walton County Line.
