MARY ESTHER—The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man early Wednesday who was wanted in a string of recent burglaries.
A sheriff’s deputy doing a security check near Santa Rosa Mall about 2:30 a.m. spotted a car pulled up to a strip mall on Page Bacon Road in Mary Esther. Inside the car was a man holding a screwdriver. It turned out to be 38-year old Larry Wayne Hoss Jr. of Miramar Beach, a suspect in multiple burglaries.
The deputy didn’t find any evidence that Hoss had burglarized any businesses at the strip mall, but Hoss was arrested for allegedly breaking into Friendship Veterinary Clinic on Beal Parkway on May 22, Simply Vapor on Mary Esther Boulevard on May 24 and the Valero gas station on Eglin Parkway on May 25.
Hoss also is suspected in the May 29 burglary of High-tech Cleaners on Eglin Parkway.
A crack pipe and cocaine residue was found when the deputy discovered him Wednesday.
Hoss was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail.
