According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, Angela M. Clark, 54, of Pensacola, was traveling east on NW Syrcle Drive near Bryant Road in Escambia County at the time of the 9:50 a.m. crash Thursday.

FHP noted at that point Clark crossed the northbound lane of traffic in her 2011 Infinity G35, struck two wooden posts on the shoulder of the roadway, collided with multiple trees and then entered the water of Bayou Grande.

Clark is in critical condition at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, according to the FHP release. A 6-year-old child in the car is being treated for minor injuries at Baptist.
