SHALIMAR — Two vehicles crashed about 3:05 p.m. on Eglin Parkway when a motorist allegedly ran a red light and struck another vehicle crossing the road, according to Shalimar Police Chief John E. Cash.
A maroon 2007 Buick driven by 86-year-old Alice McKinney was heading south on Eglin when it ran a red light at Erwin Fleet Drive and struck the white Chevrolet Malibu driven by Rhonda Coffey, 51, that had pulled out from Erwin Fleet, Cash said.
Traffic was blocked for about 40 minutes.
McKinney was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center with a laceration to her right arm. Coffey did not request medical attention.
The Shalimar Police Department is investigating the crash.
