FORT WALTON BEACH — U.S. LawShield, a Texas-based company, hosted a gun law seminar last night at the Comfort Inn Suites on Miracle Strip Parkway.
The company, which provides legal advice and counsel to gun owners who use their weapons in self-defense, had two speakers: an attorney and Stan Pagonis, an officer at the Pensacola State College Police Department.
Pagonis discussed what to expect if you use a weapon justifiably in self-defense and how to treat yourself as a crime scene after you use a weapon.
Some of the 15 or so people in attendance asked whether the company would represent them if they used a weapon that wasn’t a gun in self-defense.
Terrie McGlan, a representative from the company, chimed in to say that U.S. LawShield is currently defending a woman who used her car to injure someone in self-defense, and it works for baseball bats, too. She also mentioned that if you need an attorney, the company can send one to the scene of a crime following a “self defense incident.”
