VALPARAISO — A kid who took a scooter from his neighbor’s pickup truck on Christmas Eve was reprimanded by police.

According to call history reports from the Niceville Police Department, on Dec. 24 a man called to report he “observed a kid take a scooter out of the bed of his neighbor’s truck” and headed to another house.

The owner of the scooter did not want to press charges, but the boy was nonetheless read his Miranda Rights and admitted to taking the scooter without permission.

The boy was trespassed from the woman’s property. The woman asked police to hold on to the scooter “for safe keeping” until she returned from out of town.
