LETTER TO THE EDITOR: A purr-fect act of kindness

With all the negativity in the world lately, I wanted to share something amazing that happened to me. My cat was acting weird, so I took her to the Cat Clinic of Destin. Within the first couple minutes the vet told me that my cat was in critical condition. They gave me the choice of trying their best to save her (much less expensive), or going to (a Tallahassee clinic) where they have extensive supplies and resources (very expensive). I chose the Cat Clinic of Destin due to the finances.

After a few days, I received a call that my cat was not responding and it would probably be in her best interest to be put down. I arrived at the clinic in complete distress to say my last goodbye. A vet assistant named Kay saw how upset I was. We began talking. I told her about how I couldn’t afford the vet specialist in Tallahassee and she left the room. She came back in about 15 minutes and told me she would pay the remainder of what I couldn’t afford! I don’t even know this woman and this is the kindest thing anyone has ever done! I don’t know how to repay her!

I wanted to get the story of her kindness out because I am appreciative beyond belief. It really was a Christmas miracle!
