Staff report

DESTIN — A man who punched the spoiler of another man’s vehicle, damaging it, made things worse for himself by defying the deputy who responded to the complaint.

The 42-year-old homeless man walked away from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy, stopping only when the deputy pulled out his Taser.

After the suspect was placed under arrest, he spit at the deputy through the cage, hitting him on the right side of his face.

The deputy informed him he was going to be charged for that action and not to do it again.

The suspect spit again, while yelling multiple profane words.

He was charged with resisting arrest and battery on a law enforcement officer.

His arrest report did not say why he punched another man’s car.
