MOSSY HEAD — Two motorists escaped injury Wednesday afternoon when their vehicles collided on Interstate 10.
According to a press release from Florida Highway Patrol, 28-year-old Amabilia Amparo Sanchez of Freeport was driving a 2007 Ford Edge east in the outside lane near Mossy Head about 12:45 p.m. as 64-year-old Jose Sosa of Miami was traveling east in the inside lane in a 2002 Freightliner truck.
Sanchez tried to change lanes and hit the right front of Sosa’s truck, the FHP said. The Edge was knocked into the outside guardrail.
Both vehicles had been moved before an FHP trooper arrived at the scene.
Sanchez was charged with failure to maintain a single lane, FHP Master Sgt. James D. Johnson said.
Sanchez and Sosa were wearing seat belts and were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
